SITENEWS: New Twitter Account Effective May 1st


Since starting this site more than 6 months ago, I wasn’t sure how successful it was going to be.

Well, it has been huge, and I have all my dedicated followers to thank for that.

First, I need to inform everyone that a transition phase will begin tomorrow where posts will appear both on my personal Twitter account, @GJMcGInn, to the blog’s new home, @D_DefenseNews.

Please make sure that you follow @D_DefenseNews as the daily posts will stop on my account sometime in the beginning of May.

As a journalist, I have multiple blogs and two columns in the works, and I fear that my other work will get lost among the posts from this blog.

To explain, let me share with you the success that has occured so rapidly that it overwhelmed me, and I had to put my other plans on hold until I can get the posts over to a new account.

For some reason I do not post on my personal Facebook account. I think I anticipated that I would loose all my friends, as my Facebook account is used so my family, friends, and past coworkers can have a place and not bombarded by posts.

However, I do seem to post news from my Cosmology and Space Exploration blog on my Facebook page. I guess the difference is that I am very picky on what I want posted on that blog, and this blog (DDN) is mostly submitted by the services themselves and aggregated from some media outlets.

Daily Defense News Is Up and Running


During the past several days you may have gotten Word Press’s Suspended Account screen while trying to access this site.

I have contacted support and they said that this site was “mistakenly flagged by our automated anti-spam controls. We have reviewed your site and have removed the suspension notice.”

So we are back up and running, and will continue to gather defense and military news from all over the country (soon to be worldwide) as I add other countries such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, ISL, India, and other’s who provide news about their defense programs and military capabilities.
