Use the latest browser version to access Navy Reserve Homeport portal applications

All Hands,

Old browsers, particularly Internet Explorer versions 10 and below are less stable, much more vulnerable to viruses, spyware, malware, and other security issues. Security holes that were identified and patched in newer versions are still open and available for hackers to exploit and infiltrate. Outdated browsers have the potential to compromise a service member’s computer, and negatively affect Navy systems and applications. Navy Reserve Homeport applications (i.e. Reserve Force Manpower Tools (RFMT)) have been successfully tested on Internet Explorer 10 and above. Service members will encounter a degraded and unsupportable user interface when using older browsers.

IAW NMCI User Awareness User Communication #20160108-0500: On January 12, 2016, Internet Explorer (IE) versions 8 and 10 reached End of Life (EOL) and are no longer supported.

ALL EARLIER VERSIONS OF INTERNET EXPLORER, TO INCLUDE 8 AND 10, WILL BE BLOCKED FROM NAVY RESERVE HOMEPORT PORTAL APPLICATIONS (I.E. RESERVE FORCE MANPOWER TOOLS (RMFT)) BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 1, 2016.

You can use the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge to access Navy Reserve Homeport portal applications (i.e. Reserve Force Manpower Tools (RFMT)). Beta versions of browsers are not supported.
